Data Destruction

Hard Drive Destruction

A computer is part of someone’s identity, so protect your personal information from falling into the wrong hands.  To mitigate our customer’s risk from potential identity theft & breach of information, we have developed and implemented an effective chain of custody that meets and exceeds compliance with all National Security Agency requirements.  Properly destroying data is imperative for customers who have highly classified or confidential information on their hard drives.  Here at PowerHouse Recycling we believe that shredding is the safest way to completely eliminate the data as well as the drive.

Purging data using D.O.D. 5220.22M  (Department of Defense) process can be an efficient method to completely wipe the drive by overwriting the data multiple times but it is not always the best solution because it is very time consuming. However, if you prefer to have you hard drives reused externally PHR will be more than happy to accomdate your needs wiping the drive with D.O.D. certified software.

Powerhouse Recycling can put your mind at ease with our convenient, reliable, and cost effective solutions.  Eliminating your liability by implementing controls and security measures for all of your vital information is our main focus. With security in mind, our facility is constantly surveyed by a 24/7 closed circuit camera system, motion activated sensors, as well as additional measures inside our warehouse which include gated areas and locked storage, all of which are monitored by a leading security system. All of our employees undergo thorough screening processes to demonstrate our due diligence and verify information listed on a potential employee’s application .  Choose the method that is right for you and your valuable information:

Off-Site Shredding

At the time of pickup the hard drives are placed into a secure lockbox while being transported back to our facility.  Upon arrival at our location all sensitive data is placed in our secure shredding area to be inventoried and audited by a trained technician.  The items are then placed into our industrial shredding machine where they are physically destroyed. At your request, video documentation can be provided.
